After the Emperor learns to organize and structure his experiences on the spiritual path, he then turns to the hierophant, who seeks to teach him the ways of applying what he has learned to his practical life. The Hierophant represents the translation of our spiritual world into a practice. This can be through self-study, meeting with others that share your beliefs, choosing a spiritual mentor, or anything else that brings you towards a closer connection with your path. Compared to the Priestess, the Hierophant is concerned with our external spiritual lives, while she is concerned with a more direct connection through experience.
